What's New in Version 4.3.0
This release contains some major improvements and changes to the app based on your feedback.
Improved Performance
- We’ve been working hard on increasing performance and stability. You’ll be pleased to notice much improved page load times throughout the app.
Navigation/UI
- We have added a new persistent top bar on all pages, providing easy access to the navigation side menu on section pages.
- A new back button on the article pages has also been added. The back button shows the previous section’s name and will allow you navigate back to it. The swipe gestures introduced in the last update remain and can also be used to navigate back to the previous section or next article.
Features
- New alerts to inform you when a new edition of The Globe is ready. Readers can opt out of these alerts using the option in Settings, under Push Notifications.
Bug Fixes
- The refresh icon in the navigation menu pulls in the latest content for the app.
- We’ve made more adjustments and improvements to the way ads are displayed in the app.
- Updated the alerts platform for more consistent delivery and experience.
- Fixed a bug where an empty article transporter flashed for a second before article content was loaded.
- Improved loading of articles with embedded interactive elements, such as charts or videos.
