Audio of Lakshmi Putrudu, starring Uday Kiran and Diya, was launched on Sunday night through `Madhura Entertainments`. The event was conducted in such a way that it resembled a political meeting with RNR Auditorium, Hyderabad, as the venue. Made under the banner of ‘RS Films’, the film is directed by Tamil director Rajkapoor. Music is by D. Imam, who also hails from Kollywood.

State Minister for Information Technology Damodar Reddy released the audio cassette and presented the first number to producer Ashok Kumar. The CD was released by Tammareddy Bharadwaj and was purchased by the State Trading corporation chairman and former legislator Srinivas. Uday Kiran remained the centre of attraction with each and every speaker wishing him good luck.

Highlight of the event was heroine Ankita who arrived on the stage dressed in the attire of Goddess Lakshmi Devi — in a silk saree, glittering crown and high heels! She brought a silver plate with the casket holding the audio CDs and cassettes and presented the same to Uday Kiran.

Shakeela, Brahmanandam, Cameraman Suresh, single card lyricist Kandikonda, Duvvasi Mohan, Siva Nageswara Rao, Janardhan Maharshi, music director Imam, Gowtham Raju and the crew of the film took part in the function.

Minister Damodar Reddy predicted great future to Uday Kiran. He said "My thanks to entire film industry, which acts as the stress buster to millions of people. Cinema plays a major role in eliminating the tensions. I was a big fan of NTR. Though NTR invited me to join TDP, I didn't do that. I believe that artistes and fans have no political affiliations. I want to produce a film soon, though I know very little about the film industry. My newly renovated theatre at Suryapet will have its inauguration through this Uday Kiran film." Uday Kiran went emotional and said: “ I have made mistakes and will sure correct them. I fold my hands and make `Koti Dhandalu` to all my well-wishers. You are my real well-wishers who are with me when I need support."

Music director Imman said that he felt happy to be making his debut in Tollywood with ‘Lakshmi Putrudu’. He praised Uday Kiran for his ease in the dance sequences.
