From the very beginning, achieving the most sustainable design solution possible has been a key part of the BCM philosophy. By involving us in the design process as early as possible, clients can maximise the options available as we are able to discuss the very basic principles of sustainable building services design with the architectural team.

This then presents opportunities for the architect to be more creative and work to reduce the overall project costs. Although sustainable design can be seen as an expensive option, past projects have proved that the earlier BCM is involved in the process, the bigger the impact we can have on the overall budget.

Our early involvement saves the design team money as it reduces the need for re-design and saves the client capital expenditure whilst achieving a lower carbon solution - and hence lower energy cost - for the life of the building.
