Nace en Madrid en 1951.
Compositor y Artista Sonoro e InterMedia. Ingeniero industrial y Doctor en Ciencias de la Información.
Ha sido miembro del Seminario de Arte e Informática y del Colectivo de Músicos ELENFANTE a comienzos de los años 80. Como compositor e instrumentista de "live electronic" ha intervenido frecuentemente con los grupos citados, con el LIM y, desde 1984 hasta 2000, con la cantante Esperanza Abad.
En 1989 comienza su colaboración con la artista Concha Jerez, con quien ha venido realizando instalaciones sonoras y visuales, performances, conciertos InterMedia, obras de arte radiofónico, vídeos, fotomontajes digitales y diversa obra gráfica.
Ha realizado obras para cinta y para soporte digital, así como obras para solistas acompañados de cinta y/o electrónica en vivo, obras escénicas, instalaciones sonoras y obras de arte radiofónico, algunas de las cuales fueron concebidas como radioperformances. Su actividad compositiva está fuertemente marcada por la creación radiofónica y por una dramaturgia del espacio en el que la obra se exhibe y desarrolla.
Ha dirigido entre 1985 y 2008 en Radio Clásica el programa Ars Sonora. Ha sido presidente de la AMEE (Asociación de Música Electroacústica de España) y coordinador del grupo Ars Acústica de la UER (Unión Europea de Radiodifusión) entre 1999 y 2005. Ha comisariado diversas exposiciones internacionales en torno al arte sonoro y la instalación sonora, ha dirigido ciclos de conciertos sobre música contemporánea y ha sido coordinador de eventos, monografías y encuentros sobre arte radiofónico y arte sonoro. Asimismo realiza una activa labor en talleres, cursos, conferencias, ensayos y artículos sobre esas materias.

Since 1979 till 1984 he has been member of the Art and Computer Seminary and of the collective ELENFANTE. As composer and performer of "live electronics" he has given many concerts with several soloists and groups and, since 1984 till 2000, with the actress-singer Esperanza Abad.
In 1989 he starts his collaboration with the artist Concha Jerez on sound and visual sculptures and installations, performances, radio art works and intermedia concerts.
The main axis of his work are the interaction between traditional instruments and recorded sounds and/or live electronic, and his personal use of the theatrical and radiophonic languages.
As producer in RNE (Radio Nacional de España) he has been the responsible, since 1985 till 2008, of the radio program "Ars Sonora", devoted to broadcasting and production of Sound and Radio Art works. In this line, he has produced more than 100 works, among which we can mention L'Escalier des Aveugles, by Luc Ferrari, awarded with the "Prix Italia" in 1991. He has been also producer of the CD's Broaden/in/Gates (1992) and Ríos Invisibles (1994),and director of events like Ciudades Invisibles (Madrid, 1992), as well as coproducer of the events Horizontal Radio (1995) and Rivers & Bridges (1996). In 2009 he has curating, together with Concha Jerez, the project "Islas Resonantes", devoted to soundscapes of Canary Islands. Iges is, as well, founder-member of the working group "Ars Acustica" of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) from its creation in 1989, and since 1999 to 2005 he has been Chairman of that group. He has been also president of the AMEE (Spanish Association of Electroacoustic Music)
Besides his activities on different artistic fields and on production, he has been developing an intense teaching activity, giving courses, seminaries and workshops, as well as lectures, collaborating regularly on several specialized musical and artistic publications. He is author of a book of narrative (Animales Domésticos, Ed.Libertarias, Madrid, 1987), a biography of Luigi Nono (Ed. CBA, Madrid, 1988), a Doctoral Thesis about Radio Art (1997), as well as editor of the book "Ars Sonora, 25 años" (Ed. Iberautor, 2012)
He was curator of the international exhibitions of sound sculptures and installations "The space of sound/The time of gaze" (Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea, San Sebastián, 1999) , "Resonances" (Museo Municipal, Málaga, 2000) and “Dimensión Sonora” (Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea, San Sebastián, 2007) as well as of the exhibition "Vostell and the Music" (Museo Vostell Malpartida, 2002-2003. He has been also curator of the M.A.S.E., devoted to Spanish Sound Art (Córdoba-Lucena, 2006). He has organized series of concerts on Reina Sofía Center of Art (Madrid), Sala Amárica (Vitoria) and Museo Vostell Malpartida (Malpartida de Cáceres) and he was Musical Director and autor of arrangements in the World Premiere of the Wolf Vostell's Fluxus-Opera "El Jardín de las Delicias" ("Garten der Lüste") at Museo Vostell Malpartida (2012)
In January 2010 he has created the site web "Radioartnet", as a permanent international archive and social network of radioart.
In March 2012 has been curator, together with Concha Jerez, of the exhibition Ars Acustica Documental, in Arts Santa Mónica Center (Barcelona)
In October 2012 has coordinated in Mexico DF the I Iberoamerican Meeting of Sound Art in Radio, RESONANTES, at Fonoteca Nacional de Mexico.
