The King's Speech, Filming, Southwark, London
This is the day they filmed the The King's Speech outside my home on the Pullens Estate, Southwark, London.
Director Tom Hooper turned the Pullens Buildings conservation area near Elephant and Castle into 1930s London for the film about King George VI and his speech therapist Lionel Logue.
After negotiations with local residents the buildings were used as the set for Logue's home - externally and internally.
Double Yellow lines were covered with grit, parking ticket machines were hidden with fibre glass period postboxes and wind and fog was pumped in to give the place a dose of smog.
The costume designer on the film was Jenny Beavan.
The Pullens have also featured in David Cronenberg's Spider (2002) and Clint Eastwood's Hereafter (2010).
