Put that on the EU PSN and I’ll buy it. :P

I wanted to play it on my PS3 but unfortunately my PS3 is on the other side of the world and the TV is usually in use. Vita works best for me.

Neat. I enjoyed my time with it on PS3.

  • James Reilly

Wonder if hypothetical localization will be stealth released too. Not exactly the first time it happened.

  • Alex Cattaneo

    Weird no physical release.

  • orzorzorz

i really hope we get it in NA, the more DRPGs the better

  • Budgiecat

    meh

advance the genre or dont bother…why is the PS2 Forsaken Land by Atlus one the only one that tried to?

    • Tatsuya1221

To be fair, it’s mainly because the fanbase doesn’t want them to advance the genre.

I personally have no opinion either way.

That’s not entirely true. Stranger of Sword City, Demon Gaze, and Mind=0 have tried to advance the genre in some way. Granted, only the first two were well received (while Mind=0 was given nice reception for the story and art, most hated the gameplay, lol).

        • Tatsuya1221

Well i will admit that i’ve kinda gotten behind on the genre in these last few years because i’ve become more of a pc gamer as of late, with demons gaze being the only one of those 3 i actually own, though i haven’t played much of it due to gaming mostly on my pc and well, my massive backlog.

Guess i’ll move demon’s gaze up my list then, thanks for the info.

Well, they got a lot of things right, imo. Having said that… I lean more towards the Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono. series and always have, even since the first one on PSP, lol. It just feels right to me (granted, a lot of that has to do with the first one being pretty much a direct copy of Wizardry Xth for PS2, map for map, just in anime form).

Granted, I suppose I’m biased towards them all for different reasons. Like, there are things I really enjoy about the Generation Xth series, but there are also things I loathe about it, lol. Then again… If there’s one thing that has remained consistent with DRPGs, it’s that you’ll always have a love-hate relationship with them, heh.

      That was Racjin, not Atlus.

      • Budgiecat

It was still published by Atlus

The hell? That really did come out of the blue, lol. I really hope they aren’t finished with the Wizardry Renaissance project though. If all they release are two Wizardty titles for PS3 this whole time (well, and this one on Vita now too, lol), I’ll be mad.

They need to come out with a new Wizardry for PS4 now… Even if it’s a download only version, like the original was (before the Double and Perfect Packs came out anyway).

  • Maroš Goč

I want the real Wizardry, no this …weirdnesss

    • Budgiecat

the most advanced we got in the genre outside of Forsaken Land was Wizardry Online but that was SOE which is no longer a part of Sony and that was PC only…

and the most annoying was that one Wizardry game released on iOS which was so awful control wise and visual wise, it wanted to to pay some ridiculous microtransaction fees on top of a ridiculous fee for the game lol

      • Maroš Goč

        I meant Wizardry 6, Wizardry 7 and Wizardry 8

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Well, those days are long gone and buried six feet under with SirTech, lol. Ever since it was turned over to Japan, they’ve taken a different direction with it which has spawned spin offs like Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono., so I don’t think we’ll be seeing anything like Wizardry 8 or its predecessors, unfortunately.

        • Budgiecat

I dunno then you lost me

Wizardry series was consumed by a Japanese developer so if you’re asking me why U.S. made Wizardry games aren’t being pushed out anymore its because they no longer exist and the current publisher pushes out only the Japanese made stuff

    • Tatsuya1221

Honestly the closest your going to get to the old wizardry games is probably the elminage series(and yes i know even that’s a stretch), though i think we only got elminage gothic on vita and pc here in the west.

  • Richard Drakos

I played it on PS3 and found it to be decent. It’s doesn’t have the depth or rich class system of Wizardry 8, but you have to take what you can get with the Japanese Wizardry titles.
