Meanwhile, Carey recently praised Jennifer Lawrence, 25, for speaking out in the name of feminism.

Carey applauded the 25-year-old for her essay discussing the Hollywood gender pay gap, telling Deadline: 'It’s a long overdue conversation and it’s admirable what she has done.'

The Great Gatsby star also addressed controversy surrounding Jennifer's article, since she is the world's best paid actress.

'Sure, there’s been cynicism toward her speaking out and the fact that she makes a lot of money, but she is completely and selflessly rising above that,' Carey gushed.
