IFOR Centennial invitation

The International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR) celebrates this year its hundredth anniversary. The movement was born out of an international peace conference held in Konstanz, Germany, in early August 1914. The event itself as well as the fact that there was a significant movement for peace and friendship between the nations is largely unknown today. Nor is it widely know that there was a significant pacifist movement in that period.
The members of IFOR feel it is important amid commemorations of World War I to mark the existence of a large movement against war and the beginning of a worldwide fellowship whose commitment is to active nonviolence and to resist the temptation of war.
We invite youu to join members and friends of this worldwide movement on the first weekend of August in Konstanz. IFOR is a grassroots movement with the majority of its members living in the Global South. The celebrations will be modest yet insightful and joyful, with a varied program, from meditation to dancing/ singing/ sculpturing, as well as exchanging ideas and experiences.
Attached to this web page are a promotional flyer and registration form (PDF download, at bottom). More detailed information will be available in May. Yet we urge you to register early, so as to facilitate planning. Any contribution in addition to your registration fee will help cover participation from the Global South.
