Oxford University Crest SVEC Online Index Voltaire Foundation logo

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of SVEC (formerly Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteenth Century), the Voltaire Foundation is creating an online, thematic index to the full 50 years of the series.

Founded by Theodore Besterman in 1955, the series has published over 400 volumes of major research in eighteenth-century studies. The Editorial Board includes scholars with specialisms in many different areas of literary studies and history, philosophy and history of art, and the General Editor welcomes submissions on any aspect of the Enlightenment, whatever the discipline or critical approach. Among the most recent volumes are reappraisals of individual writers, and new research in the history of ideas, political thought, women's writing, journalism, history of printing, rhetoric, art and music.
