Pop star Shakira has launched a game app called Love Rocks starring Shakira, but have we seen it somewhere before? Some eagled-eye gamers are comparing the latest launch to the popular puzzle Bejeweled, given the fact that gems need to be matched on a grid to accumulate points.
“Coming up with the idea of the game required a lot of research and I’ve learned a lot in the process,” says Shakira on her website to promote the app. “There are no birds, just rocks” she jokes in reference to the hugely popular game Angry Birds.
Jokes aside, the 38 year-old did in fact team up with Rovio Entertainment, the creative minds behind Angry Birds to launch her mobile venture.
“It has been like nothing I’ve done before, a new experience. It’s a new platform through which I can communicate with my fans, it’s another outlet for my creativity,” the Colombian-born artist told fashion and lifestyle platform Refinery29.
