What is 10 x 10?

10 x 10 is a free project development workshop. We meet every month at 7pm at Gertrudes Brown Couch, 30 Gertrude St Fitzroy in Melbourne. Filmmakers can screen up to 10 minutes of their non-fiction works-in-progress and receive 10 minutes of directed feedback in a supportive environment. It's a great opportunity to see some fantastic work, and also to be a part of the Melbourne independent film community.

We present up to 4 projects at our monthly screenings. If you would like to screen please contact Benj and Gen at documentary3000@gmail.com The 10 x 10 format was created by www.doculink.org.

March 10 x 10 - swans, horse festivals, warehouses and animation

Due to AIDC taking place at the start of March, we came together on the second Tuesday to check out some great projects.

Darcy was back with another doco exploring the creative space world.

'Caravan' is a twenty five year artist space which has produced some
key sculptors. The space is continually under review and teeters on
extinction.

For more info, contact Darcy at darcygladwin@gmail.com

Linus has been in Melbourne for a while studying film, and not knowing many people, decided to make a film about the black swans around Albert Park Lake.

A Nature documentary about a family of Black Swans, using only music and observational footage to evoke Joy, unity, fear and a family's love; telling their family tale

For more info about Black Swans, contact Linus at archlinus@gmail.com

Our first animated doco -
Lurujarri Dreaming -was then screened by Bernadette.

A 15 min long animated documentary tracing the recent history of the Goolarabooloo people of North-Western WA, their connection to country, and their efforts at reconciliation through the annual Lurujarri Heritage Trail, an opportunity for people to walk with the Goolarabooloo for 9 days along their Songline. This story is told by multiple narrators, indigenous and non-indigenous, young and old.

For more info contact Bernadette at bernadettett@gmail.com.

And Mary was back with another project, The Horsemen of Tingri. Her friend was traveling in Nepal and came across an annual horse focused festival. She shot some film and took photos and Mary is looking for options to create a documentary out of it.
