Here’s a fun little tidbit for you: If you took Amazon’s total cumulative profit since the company went public and added it all up, it wouldn’t even come close to being enough cash to afford to purchase one of everything Amazon sells on its website.

Question and answer site Quora is a goldmine of interesting content if you know where to look, and we recently came across a very interesting topic on the site. A question was posed that seems almost impossible to answer from outside the company — how much would it cost to buy one of everything on Amazon? — but one user did a tremendous job of providing a well-researched and well-thought out answer.

According to his profile, Kynan Eng has made a career of providing “brain-related research & commercialization at universities and startups.” Diving into his answer on Quora, we can certainly see that he has a knack for it.

Eng did some serious number crunching and while some necessary liberties were obviously taken, he came up with a figure that’s as close as anyone is going to get. So how much would it cost to purchase one of each of the approximately 488 million products Amazon sells on its website? According to Eng, about $13.37 billion.

Check out his full answer on Quora to see how he arrived at that monstrous figure.
