WELCOME TO /OPNEI/!

Mods pls sticky

Since the last thread is dead I thought of making a new one that is a bit more organized, in preparation for the next revival and/or summer.

Each guide regarding a certain topic will have its own post, if you want to direct someone to a guide then just link to its post number.

WHAT IS /OPNEI/?

Operation Neighborhood (or simply "The Neighborhood") is an 8chan community specializing in trolling Tumblr and its large community of SJWs (Social Justice Warriors).

Note that /opnei/ is NOT a short-term, one-time raid. It is a long-term operation where anons gather and create a community on Tumblr, making new accounts when they get banned, continuously triggering tumblrinas in the process.

/OPNEI/ STARTER KIT™ (v1.0)

This is my collection of /opnei/-related imagery which includes visual guides, screenshots of news articles, lulzy pictures and other anti-SJW stuff. Feel free to post images from your collection in this thread.

You will find duplicates of some images, those are compressed copies to fit Tumblr's 1 MB file size limit per picture.

Tip: click "Download as ZIP" on top of the Mega page to download the whole folder in one file.

>Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is an application layer protocol that facilitates communication in the form of text. [Wikipedia]

We have an IRC channel named #opnei where you can join and connect with other neighbors and talk/ask about whatever, it's like a group chat room.

BROWSER-BASED IRC

Here's an extremely easy way of getting into IRC using only your internet browser:

1. Go to https://kiwiirc.com/client

2. Click on Server and network to expand it (highlighted in red, see pic related).

3. Type a nickname for yourself in the Nickname box.

4. Type #opnei in the Channel box.

5. Type nl.chatjunkies.org in the Server box.

6. Leave the Port as is and click Start.

IRC CLIENTS

Alternatively, you can download and install an IRC client on your computer/phone/tablet to chat from.

Here is a list of worthwhile clients, they're all open source except (possibly) the iOS and WP ones:

HexChat (Linux/Windows/OS X) - https://hexchat.github.io/

HoloIRC (Android) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fusionx.lightirc (source: https://github.com/tilal6991/HoloIRC)

Palaver (iOS) - https://palaverapp.com/

>Generally speaking, tumblr is the internet's biggest hugbox. It doesn't matter what you post, as long as it's "progressive" some bleeding asshole will reblog it and jerk you off. [Encyclopedia Dramatica]

Tumblr (aka Dumblr or Tardlr) is a poorly organized and terribly coded microblogging platform generally populated by SJWs and special snowflakes of all kinds.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Tumblr allows its users to modify the HTML code of their blogs and add any scripts they want, no matter how malicious. Tumblrinas abuse this and constantly attempt to dox their visitors, doesn't look like a safe space now does it? Make sure you are familiar with using a proxy, VPN or Tor before doing anything and always keep NoScript enabled… Read the other guides in this thread to learn more and ensure your anonymity and privacy are protected.

NOTE: due to the overly exposed nature of smartphones I highly advise NOT using them at all while doing /opnei/-related work. For the same reason I advise against using Windows 10, Chromium-based browsers and school/work computers.

REGISTRATION

To register you need an email address, but you only need it momentarily to verify your account…

1. Go to https://10minutemail.org/ and you'll find the website has generated an email address for you, but it only lasts for 10 minutes! (You can reset the counter several times to get more minutes) Scroll down a bit and you'll see your inbox.

2. Copy the email address and use it to register on Tumblr. Save it somewhere because you'll need it when logging in from now on.

3. You'll be asked to solve a Google ReCaptcha, it should still work with scripts disabled. But if it didn't, you can temporarily disable NoScript and re-enable it after registration.

4. When you're done you should find a new message received on 10 Minute Mail (refresh the page if you didn't get it), open it and click on the verification link.

Congratulations, you now have an unrestricted verified account.

COMMON TERMINOLOGY

Posting - Making a new original post. It can be of many types including Text, Photo, Quote, Link, Chat, Audio or Video.

Reblogging - Sharing someone else's post on your blog, you can add a reply to it for the original poster to see.

Mentioning - Including a user's name in your post in a way that he will be notified about it.

Notes - The statistics of every post. (e.g. who reblogged/liked the post, who replied and with what…etc) Open any post's permalink and scroll to the bottom of the page to find them.

Tags - Like hashtags on Twitter, except that they're typed into a special area underneath each post. When searching for a certain tag only original posts will show up in the results, reblogs won't.

Asks - This is a feature for users to ask questions to one another either using their real identity or under anonymity.

Blocking - Blocking a user means they can no longer like/reblog your posts but can still see them.

Shadow Ban - This is a form of pseudo-banning that you don't get notified about, your account stays alive but it's like you are talking to yourself. (more on that below)

Termination - Getting banned; your account is permanently deleted along with all your posts. HOWEVER, other users' reblogs of your posts stay alive on the users' blogs.

MENTIONING USERS

Type "@" followed by the user's name (the-name-thats-here.tumblr.com), while typing you'll find a small menu appear with user suggestions, click on the desired user.

SHADOW BANS

Dumblr will not notify you when you get shadow banned but generally you will notice a sudden lack of notifications and activity, this is when you should check… The "symptoms" of shadow banning are:

• Your reblogs/replies don't show up in the notes of the original post, the original poster doesn't see them.

• Original posts you write to a certain tag don't show up in the search results of said tag.

• Only your followers can see your posts.

POSTING IMAGES

Due to Tardlr being so shittily coded it became almost impossible to upload an image directly from your computer and have it display correctly on your post… The solution to that is, instead, copy-pasting a direct web link of the image right into the post body (on a new line), and Tardlr will automatically upload it from there.

So if you want to post any pictures you'll have to upload them somewhere first, either temporarily (favored) or permanently. And for that there are a bunch of websites (no registration necessary):

Volafile (2 days) [Germany] - https://volafile.io/

Uguu (24 hours) [Sweden?] - https://uguu.se/

Pantsu (Permanent) [Australia] - https://pantsu.cat/

Pomf.cat (Permanent) [USA] - https://pomf.cat/

NOTE: remember that there is a 1 MB limit on every uploaded picture.

File: 1454515520836-1.png (1020.08 KB, 3600x2400, 3:2, logical_fallacies.png)

Tumblrinas are by far the most easily baited, offended and triggered people on the Internet, but if you don't make your replies to them count then the tumblrinas will most probably ignore you, and we wouldn't want that.

SHITPOSTING TIPS

• Don't make your bait too obvious, low-quality replies don't produce good salt.

• Whenever possible help other anons by reblogging their replies and adding yours, mention the OP to make sure they see your reply. Strength in numbers.

• If you see a lulz-worthy selfie, shoop it. You can use GIMP (a portable version is available) if you don't have PS.

• Feel free to abuse tumblrinas' Ask boxes especially if they allow anonymous questions. Bonus points if the Submission box is also open and you spam it with triggering pictures.

• Pretend you came from 9gag or 4chan, never tell tumblrinas that you came from 8chan or /opnei/.

• Getting blocked, shadow banned or terminated is not the end. Remember the easy registration guide written above and use it as much as you like.

Now that we're done with shitposting, let's get to the serious stuff… You will find some smartass tumblrinas of the "serious" type who don't fall for shitposts and bait, you are better off triggering those with solid facts instead, which means engaging in serious debates. For that, make valid arguments supported by credible sources and free from logical fallacies.

CREDIBLE SOURCES

Sources include but are not limited to:

• News articles from reputable news agencies

• Legal documents and governmental statistics

• Scientific researches conducted by verified research facilities

LINKING TO SOURCES

When linking to a source page it's preferable to archive it first (or find an existing archived copy) and linking to that instead. You may never know when an important page is deleted or changed so it's best to 'capture' it while it's still relevant.

The two most dependable archiving websites are https://archive.is/ and https://archive.org/web/

LOGICAL FALLACIES

A meaningful debate is free from the 24 logical fallacies. You are expected to avoid them when not shitposting and at the same time point them out when they're committed by tumblrinas.

See pic related for the complete list or just head on to: https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/

SLEEPER CELL ACCOUNTS

This is an advanced form of trolling in which you infiltrate Dumblr by posing as a special snowflake tumblrina and gradually red pilling other users, destroying the community from the inside. It's relatively more difficult than the "regular" techniques because it needs dedication but makes a greater impact.

You start by building a fake identity for yourself that looks real and familiar to Dumblr; you provide a first name, age, race, gender identity, sexual preference, pronouns, political view…etc. You don't have to provide all of those, just enough to look believable. Adding a visual theme to your blog helps a lot as well since themes are a prominent aspect of Tardlr.

Keep in mind that you will have to become one thing you hate, like a fat feminazi or a tranny PoC (piece of crap), basically anything other than a cisgendered heterosexual white male. And you must always use non-rude language, unless of course you're talking to problematic bigoted shitlords!

To give your account more credibility it should be concerned (read: obsessed) with one or more topics of interest relevant to Tardlr. That means posting a lot about said topic in the form of text, pictures, videos and everything else. Topics like:

SJW-related:

• Social Justice/Feminism

• LGBTQ+ and faggot rights

• Fatty acceptance

• Black Lies Matter

Non SJW-related:

• Pop culture/celebrities

• Cartoons (e.g. Shiteven Universe, Autism Time)

• Movie series (e.g. Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Star Wars)

• Shows/Sitcoms (e.g. Big Bang Cancer, Gayme of Thrones, Orange is the New Black)

• Animu

>The Tor network is a group of volunteer-operated servers that allows people to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. [Tor Project]

Tor provides great privacy and anonymity online with minimum effort, given that you use it the correct way.

GET TOR RUNNING

>The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked. [Tor Project]

The Tor Broswer is an open source mozilla-based Internet browser, it looks and feels almost exactly like Firefox so you shouldn't have any problems using it. It can access both Hidden Services (websites on the Tor network, always end with .onion) and regular "Clear Net" websites.

Download and install the Tor Browser (Windows/Linux/OS X) from https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

That page has some mini installation guides to help you out, if you're still having trouble see https://ssd.eff.org/en/module/how-use-tor-windows

Want a portable version of Tor Browser? Try http://sourceforge.net/projects/torbrowserportable/

CONFIGURING NOSCRIPT

NoScript is a browser extension/add-on that stops the execution of web scripts which can collect your data or IP address. NS comes pre-packed with the Tor Browser but can be manually installed on any other mozilla-based broswer.

Our goal here is blocking all scripts except for the ones coming from websites we 'trust'.

1. Open Tor and click on the NoScript icon on the Navigation Bar (Letter 'S' beside the onion icon), a drop-down menu will open, click Options.

(NOTE: you can also access this by right-clicking anywhere on the page and choosing "NoScript")

2. A new small window will open, see pic related on what to do on each tab.

3. When you're done click OK.

GOOD PRACTICES

No program in the world will truly protect you if you don't have common sense. Learn more at: https://www.torproject.org/download/download.html.en#warning

• Do not open the Tor Browser and your regular broswer at the same time.

• Do not visit or log into websites you normally visit while under Tor.

• Do not open the files you download from Tor while still online.

• Sign up and log into Tumblr only while under Tor, never at any point access Tumblr from your bare IP.

ACCESSING 8CHAN FROM TOR

8chan has a Hidden Service that you can access and post from while under Tor. The link is:

>A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, such as the Internet […] thus benefiting from the functionality, security and management policies of the private network. [Wikipedia]

VPNs provide good privacy and anonymity online and are usually more reliable than proxies. They can route traffic going through your whole computer and not just your Internet browser.

DISCLAIMER

In this guide I'll be handling free VPNs, which are less optimum than paid ones. This is due to the fact that all free VPNs keep logs which can be provided to law agencies when requested… Now this shouldn't be a problem here since shitposting is not illegal but I thought of mentioning it in case anyone wants to try anything stupid.

For a list of trusted, paid VPNs see: https://www.privacytools.io/#vpn

Unlike proxies, VPNs always require a special program to be installed. Any VPNs in the form of browser extensions/add-ons are useless and/or frauds (e.g. Hola Unblocker).

It is preferred that you still keep NoScript enabled on your broswer. (see "Configuring NoScript" above)

VPN BOOK

VPN Book provides "VPN Bundles" containing .ovpn files, these files are used by a program called OpenVPN (Windows/OS X/Android/iOS). All the bundles need a password (available on the website), it is changed every 5 days and sometimes less so make sure you regularly check on it.

You can download the bundles and check the password at http://www.vpnbook.com/freevpn (see middle column)

And download OpenVPN at https://openvpn.net/

See pic related on how to use the bundles. Taken from: http://www.vpnbook.com/howto/

RISEUP BLACK

Not to be confused with BlackVPN

I personally never tried this one… You'll need to make an account at https://black.riseup.net/ (main website) and download a program called Bitmask (Linux/Android) at https://bitmask.net/

File: 1454515725098.jpg (321.15 KB, 1000x1100, 10:11, proxy.jpg)

>a proxy server is computer that functions as an intermediary between a web browser and the Internet. [Microsoft]

Proxies are a somewhat primitive and weak way to protect your identity online, therefore they are to be used only as a last resort. Like VPNs and TOR, they can hide your real (bare) IP address and henceforth your location.

DISSECTION

In this guide when dealing with proxies you'll find that they are composed of numbers with dots in between.

A proxy should look something like this:

126.250.0.0:8080

And it is made up of two parts; first is the address of the server (126.250.0.0) and then the port (8080).

WHERE TO GET PROXIES

Google should help you with that… Mind you that half the proxies you'll find online will either be not working, too slow, or blocking social sites.

I personally use a portable tool called GatherProxy ( http://www.gatherproxy.com/gptool ) here's how to use it:

1. Open the program and it will prompt you to buy the full version, click "Continue Free".

2. While on the first tab (Gather Proxy) click Start and wait for it to build a list.

3. When it's done, go to the third tab (Proxy Checker) and click Start.

4. A new list will be built containing the proxies gathered from step 2 but this time with more details, right-click any address to copy it.

5. Add the proxy address you want to your browser's network options.

TYPES OF PROXIES

Proxies can be either Transparent, Anonymous or Elite. They are explained thoroughly here:

http://forumaboutproxy.com/general-discussions/what-is-an-anonymous-proxy-server-proxy-types-transparent-anonymous-or-elite/

Archive link: https://archive.is/oIA8z

ADDING A PROXY TO FIREFOX

The guide in pic related is a bit out of date so here's an updated one:

1. Open Options from the right hand menu.

2. Click Advanced.

3. Go to the Network tab.

4. Under the Connection section click Settings.

5. A window will open, choose "Manual proxy configuration" then "Use this proxy server for all protocols".

6. Input the proxy address and port.

7. Remove anything in the "No proxy for:" box.

8. Click OK.
