Working Test Schedule 2015 

 

1.  Sunday 5th April - Open AV Retriever Working Test.

Venue – The North Molton Shoot, by kind permission of Robert Mitchell

and the North Molton  Syndicate

Judges: Keith Sandercock (B2498), Stuart Robson and Bruce Ross-Smith

Entries close: Saturday 28th March.

Directions:  Follow the A361 North Devon Link road taking a right turn (travelling from the South) towards North Molton, (EX36 3HR) go through the village, down the hill and over the bridge and then follow club signs.

 

2.  Sunday 17th May – Novice AV Retriever Working Test (incorporating Novice Dog/Novice Handler)

Venue – Castle Hill, Filleigh by kind permission of the Fortescue Estate and Brian Mitchell

Judges: Judy Rainey (A59),  Sid Saturley (B1913), Chris Steer and John Hodge

Entries close: Saturday 9th May.

Directions: Follow the A361 North Devon Link road to the Aller Cross roundabout taking the first exit if travelling from the South (third exit travelling from the North) and after about 300yds turn right towards Filleigh, continue for approx. 3miles.  Go past the main entrance to Castle Hill for about 200yds and then turn right opposite the Home Farm (EX32 0RU).  Look for club signs.

 

3.  Sunday 12th July – AV Retriever Working Test  Puppy am – Novice pm (incorporating young handler)

Venue – Spa Wood, Filleigh

Judges: Nick Coates (A2233),  Julie Kelvie,  Susan Woods and Gillian Yates

Entries close: Saturday 4th July.

Directions:  Follow the A361 North Devon Link road to the Aller Cross roundabout taking the first exit if travelling from the South (third exit travelling from the North) and after about 300yds turn right towards Filleigh, continue for approx. 3miles.   Go through Filleigh,  past the church on the right, stay on the main road and look for the sign showing the end of the 30mph speed limit.  Continue for another 100yds before turning right, club signs will point the way (EX32 0RU)

 

4.  Sunday 30th August – AV Novice Spaniel Working Test (incorporating novice handler)

Venue  Combe, Brushford, Dulverton. by kind permission of Julie Kelvie and John Mackelden

Judges:  to be confirmed

Entries close: Saturday 22nd August

Directions: will be published shortly.

Entry fee: £6.00 per dog. Additional entry forms available from the Club website www.ndwgdc.co.uk.

Separate cheque for each dog and each test – payment and SAE with entry form please.

Members who wish to receive running orders before the event must enclose a stamped addressed envelope.

Class Definition

Puppy: Confined to dogs less than 18 months of age at the date of the test.

Novice: Confined to dogs of any age not having won: a Field Trial Award, or 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an Open Test or 1st in any other Test (Puppy and Novice Dog/Novice Handler are discounted for this purpose)

Novice Dog/Novice Handler: Neither dog nor handler to have won any award, including commendation at a Field Trial or 1st, 2nd or 3rd, in any Open or Novice Working Test. This includes a Puppy Test but not Junior Handler.

Open: Open to all dogs

Veteran: (Unclassified) Open to all dogs aged EIGHT YEARS or over on the day before the test is run.

Dogs may be allowed to enter any Working Test on a Not for Competition (NFC) basis at the discretion of the relevant Working Test Secretary, by arrangement prior to the day of the event
