Shoreland - Wetland

The Shoreland-Wetland District found in Division 2 Section 44-81 of the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance-Chapter 44Â?is to maintain safe and healthful conditions, to prevent water pollution, to protect fish spawning grounds and aquatic life and to preserve shore cover and natural beauty of wetlands within the county.

All wetlands are protected from filling by state statute. Any activities involved in, on, or adjacent to wetlands maybe regulated. The Wisconsin DNR and the County Code Enforcement Office should be notified of any project before commencing any work.
