My favorite athlete: Virgilijus Alekna, two-time Olympic gold-medal winner in discus.

My favorite teams: Kansas City Chiefs, Nuggets and Kansas City Royals.

What I listen to: A range, mostly old-school rock, like Led Zeppelin.

The best things on my training table: I'm not on a specific diet. I eat pretty much anything.

Pregame ritual: I try to stay away from superstitions; they get in my head. I like to keep away from that before every competition. I make sure I run, stretch and mentally prepare myself.

Time management tip: I try to do school stuff first — go to practice, try to hit practice hard and short — so I can go and do homework.

Planned career: Signed with UCLA — plans may include coaching at a university.

What I like most about high school sports: I love being able to compete for people I hang out with; they're you're friends.

What I like least about high school sports: The only thing I don't like is the pressure coaches try to put on you in sports. There should be a little pressure; you just do the sport because you love it.
