Newly appointed Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars, Isa Ladan Bosso, has joined the team in at their Benin-City camp, where they're preparing for Sunday's CAF Champions League preliminary round match, against Liberia's Mighty Barolle, on Sunday.
The former Flying Eagles coach, who recently agreed terms with the Kano aristocrats, watched the training session led by Baba Ganaru, who has been acting as chief coach since former Technical Adviser, Salisu Yusuf joined Samson Siasia’s Super Eagles backroom staff.
Bosso started the present campaign at his hometown club, Niger Tornadoes, before he was edged out by the club. The former Flying Eagles coach has also worked at Wikki Tourists.
“I introduced the squad to the new Technical Adviser, on Wednesday, and everything went well,” Ganaru said to SuperSport.com.
Ganaru told SuperSports.com that he is looking forward to a cordial working relationship with Bosso.
“It’s the first time we’ll work together, but it’s not strange to me because I’ve successfully worked with several top coaches in the past.
I’ve worked with Kelechi Emeteole, Tunde Abdulrahman, Kafaru Alabi, Justin Tenger, the Ghanaian coach, Jabir Malik, Ivar Sing (Slovenia) and SalisuYusuf,” he said.
Pillars had two training sessions, on Tuesday, but a novelty match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium delayed the afternoon session.
“We tried to achieve our task despite the delay,” Ganaru stated.
The Kano side reached the last four in 2008, but lost in the semifinals to Premier League rivals, Heartland.
