DECLARATION OF THE REMAINING PORTION OF THE HISTORICAL "TUlSHUlSIE" AT 12 CHURCH STREET, BETHLEHEM
By virtue of the powers vested in me by section 10 (1) of the War Graves and National Monuments Act, 1969 (Act 28 of 1969), I, Gerrit van Niekerk Viljoen, Minister of National Education, hereby declare the remaining portion of the historical "Tuishuisie", situated at 12 Church Street, Bethlehem, to be a national monument.
Description
The remaining portion of the historical "Tuishuisie", situate on certain Subdivision 3 of Erf 152 in the Town of Bethlehem, District of Bethlehem. Certificate of Consolidated Title 1836/1983, dated 2 March 1983.
Historical and architectural interest
This "Tuishuisie" is the oldest existing building in Bethlehem and was presumably erected before 1880. 10/2/1004.
