Former Raiders guard Damon "Mo" Collins died Sunday morning, according to the Charlotte Observer. Collins was 38.

Collins had been receiving dialysis treatments for kidney failure, according to the story. He coached West Charlotte High School's football team the past two years.

Collins was a Raiders first-round draft pick in 1998, along with current Raiders free safety Charles Woodson. He started for the Raiders in their Super Bowl appearance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Overall, Collins started 58 of the 71 games he played for the Raiders from 1998-2003.

"We are in the NFL former players chapter together," former Carolina Panther and Victory Christian football coach Dee Brown told the Charlotte Observer. "I know he had a big heart to help kids and really wanted to turn West Charlotte High School around.

"I know he was taking great pride in that. Charlotte, West Charlotte High School, the NFL and the entire community has just lost a good man, but I'm sure his legacy will remain in the hearts and lives he touched."

The Raiders are in Cleveland preparing for their game against the Browns today. They have not issued a statement on Collins' passing.
