2Hasbro Makes a Giant Debut at NY Comic Con: Focuses on Marvel Comics and Transformers
Hasbro made a strong showing at its NY Comic Con (NYCC) debut this weekend. Although the line didn’t reach the typical endless length of San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), fans were delighted to see some of Hasbro’s latest exclusives that focused on Marvel Comics and the Transformers.
Hasbro’s NYCC exclusives focused on more broad reaching consumer items, instead of the hardcore niche collectibles found out SDCC. So, if you were hoping to quickly stop by for a new variation on the “Starscream piloted by Cobra Commander” collector’s item, think again.
Still there were several cool items to check out. For example, comic readers will be delighted by the new Green Hulk-Red Hulk toy that was first depicted recently in Marvel Comics. This item was a definite treasure at NYCC and a must for collectors.
Transformers Prime fans got a cool Bumblebee and Arcee toy package that included Raf Esquivel and Jack Darby.
Another great NYCC exclusive was the Maximum Carnage Hasbro Mini Muggs. It came in this awesome Empire State Building shaped box and included: Spider-Man (at the top), Carnage and Venom below Spidey, and J. Jonah Jameson and Demogoblin at the bottom.
A person favorite was this Nerf Bumblebee gun, called the Transformers Barricade RV-10 Nerf Blaster. It doesn’t transform, but it can shoot 10 Whistler Darts using 3-AA batteries.
For husbands who want some Transformers action, but can’t get their wives to see “toys” as “collectibles” there were these Autobots meets Decepticons CUPONK Cup games. It’s an electronic game that merges beer pong with Transformers. It comes with 2 electronic cups, a 6-card Autobot “launch” deck. a 6-card Decepticon “launch” deck, 6 CUPONK Balls and an instruction guide. Hopefully after playing, you can get your spouse to pick up some of the stronger Hasbro collectible items.
