Stoloff, Bob

Stoloff, Bob, singer, educator; b. Queens, NY, 20 August 1952.

Stoloff grew up in Port Washington, L.I., New York. He earned his B.M., Berklee College of Music. Stoloff is associate professor and assistant chair of the Voice Department at Berklee College of Music. His teaching repertoire includes vocal improvisation, contemporary rhythm section grooves and a cappella performance techniques. Stoloff has sung in the Boston-based group The Ritz, and in 1983 he sang in Europe with Vocal Summit, which included Bobby McFerrin, Urszula Dudziak and Jay Clayton. In addition to teaching at Berklee, Professor Stoloff remains a jazz clinician, adjudicator and guest conductor for many organizations including International Association of Jazz Educators, American Choral Director's Association, Music Educator's National Conference, New York State School Music Association, National Association of Teachers of Singing and Musicfest Canada. He also plays trumpet, flute and percussion.
