On the death of the 3rd Baron Conyers the Barony of Conyers is deemed to have fallen into abeyance between his three daughters. By letters patent dated 10 Aug 1641 his grandson, Conyers Darcy, was confirmed in the Barony of Darcy de Knayth, and on the following day in the Barony of Conyers, both with remainder to his heirs male.  However, these letters patent were held by the Committee for Privileges of the House of Lords in 1903 to operate only as a determination of the abeyances in the old Baronies with their former limitations to heirs general.  The remainder to heirs male was therefore inoperative.

The Barony of Conyers followed the same line of descent of the Barony of Darcy de Knayth until 24 Aug 1888, when on the death of Sackville George [Lane-Fox], 15th Baron Darcy de Knayth and 12th Baron Conyers, the two Baronies once again fell into abeyance:

On the death of the 15th Baron Darcy de Knayth and 12th Baron Conyers both Baronies fell into abeyance between his two daughters. The abeyance of the Barony of Conyers was terminated on 8 Jun 1892 in favour of his elder daughter and coheiress, the Countess of Yarborough.  On 29 Sep 1903 the abeyance of the Barony of Fauconberg was also terminated in her favour, and on the same date the abeyance of the Barony of Darcy de Knayth was terminated in favour of his younger daughter and coheiress, the Countess of Powis:
