Gideon Anderson
Gideon Anderson was born in Canada, Aug 12, 1854, and died in Hurley Hospital,
Flint, of pneumonia Dec 17, 1927, aged 73 years, 4 months and 5 days.
He spent his boyhood in Canada, coming to Michigan as a young man to work in the
white pine around Alpena.
In 1882 at Speaker, Sanilac county, he was united in marriage to Jemima Glendenning,
who preceded him in death eight year ago.
One daughter, Nellie, died at the age of 2 years. He is survived by two sons, David
of Sage township and William of Flint, and nine grandchildren. Mr. Anderson and his wife and infant daughter came to Meredith in 1884, where they
resided until 1886, when they settled in Sage township, which was at that time practically a forest.
At various times in his later life he worked in automobile plants in Flint. He was
an employee of the Chevrolet Motor Co., at the time of his death.
