Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotic Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan chaired a high level meeting regarding the unfortunate incident which took place in Sabzi Mandi in Islamabad here today.
 
The Minister stressed on the need for better and effective coordination between all the concerned departments and said the police should be two steps ahead of the terrorists.
 
The Minister directed that due care should be taken of all the injured at government expense and no stone be left unturned to help the people affected by this tragedy.
 
He asked ICT and Police administration to identify potential targets in the federal capital and workout a comprehensive security plan to safeguard them.
 
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan directed ICT to take over the control of I-11 wholesale market from CDA and work out a security plan in consultation with local business leaders. He said all its entry and exit points should be properly regulated and surveillance cameras be installed there.
 
He said registration of residents of Katchi Abadis and suburban areas of Islamabad should immediately be completed and further support be sought from intelligence agencies. He said joint patrolling by police and Rangers must start during this month.
 
The Minister also asked NACTA to play a proactive role in evolving a strategy for the protection of Islamabad and ensure better coordination between intelligence and security agencies.
 
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that compensation to the injured and relatives of the deceased should be paid within next three days as per the package approved in the case of F-8 District Court incident. 
 
Earlier, Chief Commissioner and IG Police briefed the Minister about the details of the incident and said there are 22 deaths so far in the bomb blast with 83 injured.
 
Secretary Interior, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, IG Police, NC NACTA and Additional IG attended the meeting.
