605 Delegates Attend OIC Extraordinary Summit 2016 Ministerial Meeting

JAKARTA, 3/6 (OIC-ES2016) - Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marshudi said 605 delegates had attended the Ministerial Meeting at the 5th Extraordinary OIC Summit 2016 which took place at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sunday (3/6). 

"Based on our data, the summit was attended by 605 delegates from 57 countries and was also covered by approximately 500 journalists," Mrs. Marsudi said at a news conference in Jakarta.

According to her, the summit is expected to encourage international community to continue to prioritize the completion of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif issue given the current increased worrying situation.

The 5th Extraordinary OIC summit is also a manifestation of Indonesia’s and OIC’s full support and solidarity on the Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif issue.

Indonesia’s support and contribution to Palestine was also reflected in the cooperation with and assistance to the government and the people of Palestine, among others the 1 million US dollars humanitarian aid.

Indonesia has also initiated more than 135 capacity building programs which was participated by 1,364 Palestinians in the period of 2008-2015 within the framework of bilateral cooperation, New Asian-African Strategic Partnership for Palestinian Capacity Building Program (NAASP), and Conference on Cooperation Among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD).
