thumbnail Hello,

The powerful Brazilian-born hitman is moving ever closer to the Azzurri...

Amauri is on the verge of receiving his full Italian citizenship after the Home Office confirmed the process is reaching its conclusion.

La Stampa claims the FIGC (Italian FA) have recieved notification from the minister of internal affairs that Amauri will officially become an Italian citizen within the next 30 days.

What happens next is that the documents will return to Turin where the civil service authorities will invite the striker to swear an oath on the constitution, thus becoming an Italian.

Once this is done, Italy coach Marcello Lippi will be free to use his disrection whether to pick him for the World Cup.

It's also good news for Juventus as the move means they will free up a non-EU space in the squad.
