Comments: I am a long time TradeStation user, and am relatively new to the mt4 platform and the EAs related to mt4. I know with TradeStation some strategies and settings will put the orders for the strategy- in to the broker at the beginning, then I can shut down my computer and the trade will manage itself on the brokers end. Other strategies and settings in TradeStation require me to keep my computer OPEN, and the orders reside on my computer, which means I must monitor the trade and keep my computer connected until the trade finishes. With this in mind the question foremost in my mind is as follows:
For EACH SPECIFIC GRID TRADE THAT I WILL HAND PICK:
Can the Grid ea put all the limits and stops and oco and oso orders in to the broker for THAT ONE SPECIFIC GRID, so the orders then reside with the broker, and I don’t have to monitor that ONE GRID trade.? So let’s say I want to trade a grid – I choose the market, the time it starts, the grid space sizes etc…. I set this up with the grid EA. NOW Can the orders (there will be many orders for each specific grid) go directly to the broker at the outset – so I can then shut my computer down.?
If the answer to this is YES – then I will be very happy as I can then do what ever I need to do (including sleep) knowing that the trades reside with the broker, and my computer is now shut down.?
I hope I am communicating myself clearly – as these concepts can at times be difficult to verbalize. AND they are very important to strategy trading.
Can someone out there please answer my question??????????

The Answer is unfortunately No – EA’s are specifically written under the assumption that your computer is on all the time so you can’t use the Grid EA with you computer off. The trading potential trading decsions reside on your computer.
If you think about it carefully you don’t need an EA to trade the grid system. The whole thing can be traded manually with pending orders, targets and stops. These will reside on your brokers server. That might get past you problem of not wanting to use a VPS.
By the way hedging maybe a problem if you are from the US.
