John Caudwell

Founder and chairman, Caudwell Children Charity

Self-made billionaire John Caudwell dedicates a large proportion of his time and wealth to philanthropic endeavours. After working with the NSPCC at the end of the '90s, he made it his mission to support the lives of disabled or sick children and their families, and founded Caudwell Children at the turn of the century. Originally a regional charity, it went nationwide in 2006 and, to date, has provided over £23 million worth of services. Caudwell not only donates significant amounts to Caudwell Children, but also supports other causes including Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Prince’s Regeneration Trust. He is also a notable signatory of The Giving Pledge, a campaign through which the world’s wealthiest endeavour to donate a significant proportion of their net worth to philanthropic causes, either over the course of their lives or upon their death.
