Hired Suits

As a general rule, the groom will pay for his own attire. These days he is not expected to pay for anyone else but, if budget allows, it is a nice gesture.

Dedicated shops stock a good range of sizes so it should be relatively easy to find a suit that fits well.

Most hire shops offer helpful advice as to fittings and styles.

The outfit should be reserved well in advance of the day, especially if the wedding is in the busy summer months.

Shops usually ask for a deposit in advance, with the balance payable once delivery has been taken. When the suit is picked up, it should be tried on again to ensure that it is comfortable.

If suits are hired, the groom's party may wish to have waistcoats and/or ties specially made.

The best man or an usher should be appointed to return the groom's outfit after the wedding. The ushers should be responsible for the return of thier own suits.
