Conclusion
If you use Google Analytics correctly, it can do wonders for your business. I myself log in at least 3-4 times a day and make adjustments to my site based on the data.
For example, over the last 12 months, I’ve optimized Quick Sprout for mobile devices based on the Google Analytics mobile report.

Some nice insights, there, Neil! Thanks for sharing!
I myself check Google Analytics at least 3 times a day, morning, noon and before getting off from work. That way I always have a clear picture of what’s happening and how I can take actions to improve my strategy.
Asokan, sounds like you are on the right track. Keep it up!
Yes, Google Analytics is most accurate in tracking traffic. You can find out websites where really deliver traffic and has high conversion rate.
Fantastic share Neil!
I know Google analytics provide huge information and when used right, you can find out the most profitable keyword ideas for your business to grow traffic and sales.
Tweeted!
Good post! I am working on this very thing right now with a new client. Good Timing!
Randy, great to hear. Let me know if you need any help along the way.
Besides thinking, cowabunga dude, today was great traffic, or, hmmmm, today wasn’t so hot, Google Analytics is awesome but confusing. I keep asking myself, ok, here’s my stats, this is reality. Now what. As usual, you’ve opened my eyes to something new. So you check yours 3 to 4 times a day Neil? That does seem a lot. My wife says I’m addicted though and says I get once a day, that’s it!
Tom, to each their own. I think the main takeaway is to make sure you are tracking and optimizing on all channels.
This came through at the perfect time for me. I’ve been making a big push with some new content and content promotion at a new site of mine, and I hadn’t synched the Webmaster Tools account with the Analytics account yet. +1 for actionable advice.
This is one of the best infographics you’ve published lately. Using Analytics well is one of the best weapons in a Web marketer’s arsenal.
The most productive two hours I’ve spent in the last couple of years was sitting through a call with an expert who took me step by step through analyzing the data from a client’s Analytics account.
Before that, I thought I was clever for finding longtail traffic that I ranked for by accident and creating new content for it so that I’d rank even better. That’s a clever strategy, but it’s the tip of the iceberg.
The 5 opportunities for driving more traffic via your top 10 keyword phrases are excellent, too. Thanks for this post, Neil!
Randy, it definitely looks like you know what you are doing and that you are on the right track. Keep up the great work and let me know if you have any other insights.
Hi Neil,

Mahadev, glad you liked the infographic. Let me know if you need anything else.
Love your blogposts and infographics. They are so spot on. Thank you for sharing this information. I check analytics once in 2 days. And should do a lot more with this. Thats were you came in with this. Perfect. Thx again and great weekend.
Best, Bennie
Bennie, thanks for the feedback and insights — have a great weekend as well.
I’ve used analytics but never to this level and depth of its capabilities. Thanks for this exhaustive list.
Haroun, glad it was helpful.
Everything you do is helpful, Neil, and would be even more so if you could please enlighten one about your final slide in the infographic to explain personalized content and e-commerce. Perhaps, it is my simple assumption that personalization is when you arrive on a page and it says “Hi Neil!” but there is obviously something more…or is it just the obvious need to feed the fish what they are biting on?
Wow — this is so helpful! Nicely broken down into manageable [gold] nuggets of information. So much easier (for way-too-visual me) to concentrate on each topic. But it’s easy to understand in a ‘big picture’ way, too.
Pretty sure this will take a while for me to fully absorb. I’ll be revisiting this one many times, for sure. It’s extra helpful that you’ve made it so manageable.
Thank you for the work you do – making complicated concepts and tasks SO much easier for us… I just had to let you know how much we appreciate you!!!
: )
Mary Ann, glad you found it helpful. Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if you have anything else you need help with.
Neil,
Really appreciate the Title Tag and Meta description character length suggestion.

Hey Neil,
GA is one of those tools that’s great when you know how to use it. For the longest I didn’t have a clue as to how to leverage this tool. I finally figured it out last year, and now my only problem is to be better organized with it as far as my affiliate links.
I also never thought about check out the top ten keywords that’s driving traffic and putting them in my Alt Tags on all of my blog posts. That is a clever plan.
Also I like the fact that this infograph gives you direction of what you can do to improve your traffic using GA! This is great for those intermediates like myself to revamp each post!
Thanks for sharing Neil and I hope you have a great weekend!
Sherman, glad you found it helpful. I think as you use GA more and more tricks become apparent to help glean insights and minimize time.
Nice one Neil,
This is one of the best (cheat sheets) Info-graphs I’ve seen on Google Analytics. I’m pinning it on my chalk board and will also pass it on to clients and colleagues.
Cheers
Darryl
Darryl, thanks for all the support. Looking forward to hearing much more from you.
Meant …. currently, not correctly.
Thank you Neil for this great information.
It is cool. I discovered the seo an important part of ga and the best way to use few months back. Hope I had known this earlier.
Great infographic neil, love always! I may attempt to apply all strategies you supplied shared here.
Thanks for sharing!
Robert, glad I could help. Let me know if you get any other insights or need help with anything.
Thanks for sharing that Neil.
Hello Neil,
Very good post as always. I was wondering if there will be any penalization for internal linking anchor text ratio? You also seem to have highlighted this under keyword opportunities.
Cheers
