Mental health

Mental health is a national public health priority. It is a core component of everyday life and is as important as physical health. Good mental health is a key factor in successful psychological and social functioning. On the other hand, poor mental health has been associated with poor socio-economic status, poor education and poor opportunities for employment.

Data

  • Mental Health Scorecard West Midlands Comparison Tool
The Scorecard provides accessible information on the delivery of mental health and wellbeing services in the West Midlands region at a Primary Care Trust (PCT) level. It was developed based on London Health Observatory’s Mental Health Scorecard.
This tool has been discussed with experts in the area of mental health within the West Midlands region and they found that some information is not reliable. We will be shortly replacing it with more reliable information.
  • Mental Health Observatory
The Mental Health Observatory exists to collate and make available data about mental health care in England, collected routinely or through special surveys, by health and social services. It provides information and advice in relation to mental health topics.
