Steve Jobs Told Apple Not to Develop HDTVs

For all those Apple TV hopefuls out there, this might come as bad news. Today, it was unveiled that the late co-founder and CEO, Steve Jobs made it perfectly clear that Apple will never develop their own HDTV. According to a recently released book called Haunted Empire: Apple After Steve Jobs. In the book, it details that Steve used to gather the top 100 employees to a remote location once a year for a secret meeting. It was at this meeting the year before his death that Jobs addressed the question about an HDTV with a stern “No.” He was quoted to say, “TV is a terrible business. They don’t turn over and the margins suck.” While the Apple HDTV rumors have been circulating for years, Apple has never officially confirmed any of the rumors or made any announcement of their own. The latest rumor says that the TV was pushed back to 2015 at the earliest. But if the company honors Jobs’ statement then the wait will be in vain.
