SILENT HILL - REVELATION is a sequel to the 2006 film SILENT HILL, which was based on the game of the same name. It follows the ongoing story of a young woman with connections to a demonic underworld. It is rated 15 for some scenes of strong gory violence.

The heroine spends much of her time in a nightmarish netherworld where the line between reality and imagination becomes blurred. Accordingly, many of the scenes of strong gory violence are clearly imagined rather than real. The strongest moment occurs when the heroine walks into the kitchen of a restaurant and sees a cook carving lumps of flesh out of a living human who is strung upside down from the ceiling. The image is bloody and gory, with clear sight of the man's internal organs, all accompanied by his screams of pain However, it is apparent that none of these images are real and exist only in the young woman's mind. This lessens the impact of the blood and gore. There are also scenes of gory violence set in the demonic underworld, including sight of arms being cut off, bodies being impaled with swords, and decapitations.

The film also contains three uses of strong language ('f**k').

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
