Joseph Paton Maclay, 2nd Baron Maclay was born on 31 May 1899.1 He was the son of Joseph Paton Maclay, 1st Baron Maclay and Martha Strang.2 He married Nancy Margaret Greig, daughter of Robert Coventry Greig, on 24 September 1936.1 He died on 7 November 1969 at age 70.1
He was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Nancy Margaret Greig was born circa 1908.2 She was the daughter of Robert Coventry Greig.3 She married Joseph Paton Maclay, 2nd Baron Maclay, son of Joseph Paton Maclay, 1st Baron Maclay and Martha Strang, on 24 September 1936.1 She died on 3 August 2014.2
