Time to brush up on your crocheting!

Finished Size: Approximately 4 inches (10.1cm) tall.

Crochet Hook:
 Size E-4 US (3.5mm).

Yarn:
 Acrylic worsted weight. Yardages are approximate:

    • PEARLY’ WHITE, 1 skein.

Other Supplies:

    • Felt: black.
    • Embroidery floss: black, white. 
    • Yarn or tapestry needle; embroidery needle. 
    • Stuffing.

Stitches & Abbreviations:

    • CH: Chain.
    • INVDEC: Invisible decrease: Insert the hook through the front loop of st and then through the front loop of the next st. Yarn over and pull yarn through both front loops. Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.
    • RND: Round.
    • SC: Single crochet.


TOOTH

Tooth is worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join rnds. You may wish to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of a rnd.

Starting at top of tooth with E-4/3.5mm hook and ‘PEARLY’ WHITE, ch 9. Stuff Tooth firmly as need while working.
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd sc from hook, sc in each sc, turn 180 degrees, sc in back of each ch. (16 sts)
Rnd 2: 2sc in first sc, 2sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2sc in next 4 sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2sc in next 2 sc. (24 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc in first sc, 2sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2sc in next 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2sc in next 2 sc, sc in next sc. (32 sts)
Rnds 4-11: Sc in each sc.

ROOTS

Roots are worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join rnds. You may wish to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of a rnd.
 
Roots will be worked in groups of 8 sc. Work the next rnd four times:
*Rnd 12: Sc in next 8 sc.
Rnd 13: Sl st to first sc in group, sc in same sc, sc in next 7 sc.
Rnd 14: Sc in next 6 sc, invdec. (7 sts)
Rnd 15: Sc in next 5 sc, invdec. (6 sts)
Rnd 16: Sc in next 4 sc, invdec. (5 sts)
Cut yarn leaving an 8 inch (20cm) tail. Rejoin at next group of 8 stitches. Repeat from * 3 more times. Finish stuffing tooth firmly. Using a tapestry needle, insert needle through loop of each stitch on each Root and pull tight to close hole. Weave in ends. Close any opening between roots.

Attaching Parts: Using pattern pieces, cut out two eyes from black felt. Separate one strand from black embroidery floss and attach eyes with applique stitch as shown in DIAGRAM 1. Using three strands of embroidery floss, back stitch mouth as shown. Using three strands of white embroidery floss, make a french knot and straight stitch for each eye.
