Event Volunteer

Would you like to help the Internet Archive out with some of our events?

We host around 12 events a year and are looking for ushers to help welcome, seat guests and collect their admission tickets.

After everyone is seated, you and a guest, are more than welcome to stay for the event for free! After volunteering with us for six events - you get an Internet Archive sweatshirt!

Inventory Volunteer: Film Collection

Come help inventory part of the Internet Archive's extensive film collections, and contribute to the vision of universal access to all knowledge!

You will work with our visiting scholar and film curator to accession, inventory, and store boxes of film reels onto pallets at our Richmond warehouse. Timing can be flexible over the next 3 months. We can pick you up at BART. Flexibility, sense of humor, and ability to lift boxes up to 40lbs are essential prerequisites. If interested, please contact us at volunteer[at]archive.org

Location: Internet Archive Warehouse 2512 Florida Ave Richmond, CA

Commitment:

  • 7 hrs/week
  • 1 day/week
  • total of 3 consecutive weeks

Qualifications:

  • willingness to help with physical archive
  • Ability to lift 40lbs
  • Good organizational skills.
