Jeff Kennedy, Chairman & President

Jeff Kennedy is a co-founder and major shareholder of FlightStats and has served as the company’s Chairman since December 2012. He served as CEO from the company’s formation through 2012. Jeff was co-founder and CEO of Sight & Sound Software, the predecessor company to FlightStats, from its inception in 1993 until the company’s sale to Datalex plc in 2000. While with Datalex, Jeff served as Chief Executive Officer for the Americas. Jeff’s past experience includes 11 years at Tektronix, where he worked as an engineer designing integrated circuits, before moving into product marketing. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Oregon.

Tod Hutchinson, Chief Executive Officer & Director

Tod Hutchinson is a co-founder of FlightStats and has served as the company’s CEO since December 2012. He has served as CFO since the company’s formation. Tod brings 25+ years of corporate finance and operating experience to the company. Tod served as CFO of Sight & Sound Software, the predecessor company to FlightStats, and helped lead the sale of the company to Datalex plc. Prior, he spent two years as VP-Finance at Metro One Telecommunications, Inc., a publicly-traded provider of information services to wireless carriers. He has five years of venture capital experience and three years of public accounting experience with Price Waterhouse. He is a former CPA and holds a bachelors degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Oregon.

John Hibbard, Chief Revenue Officer

John Hibbard, Chief Revenue Officer

John Hibbard joined FlightStats in 2012 and is responsible for sales activities across all verticals. John has over 20 years experience as a senior manager, including VP of Marketing and Director of Product Management at publicly-traded Infospace Inc. He was directly responsible for growing Webcrawler.com’s traffic from 1 million unique visitors per month to over 8 million, with over $12 million in direct contribution. He was also responsible for Infospace’s $20 million annual paid search program. John founded and sold StayInStep, and served as Director of Product for Corillian Corp., now Fiserv (FISV), which developed marketing software solutions for 57 of the top 250 US banks.

David White, Chief Customer Officer

David White, Chief Customer Officer

David White joined FlightStats in 2007 and serves as the Chief Customer Officer. In this role, David works with key customers, content providers, and channel partners, and insures all are properly represented in product and development plans. David has nearly 3 decades of experience in technology product management, engineering management, marketing communications and business development and over 15 years on the management teams of companies delivering Web-based applications and services. David was also a member of the original Sight & Sound Software team and was actively involved in the sale of the company to Datalex plc.

Steve Wilson, Chief Data Scientist

Steve Wilson, Chief Data Scientist

Steve Wilson has been with FlightStats since the company’s inception and currently serves as Chief Data Scientist leading efforts in business intelligence and data science.  During his tenure at FlightStats he has held titles of Chief Technology Officer from 2004 to 2012, and Chief Product Officer from 2012 to 2014.  Prior to FlightStats, Steve served as a lead engineer at Sight & Sound Software and Datalex and developing solutions for the travel and financial services industries. He holds a bachelor’s of business administration in finance from Boise State University, and MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Chad Berkley, Chief Technology Officer

Chad Berkley, Chief Technology Officer

Chad Berkley joined FlightStats in 2011, and serves as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for leading the Engineering and IT organization in the development of all products and internal technical infrastructure.  Chad has over 14 years experience developing and deploying software, and providing leadership to technical teams and projects, including 10+ years at UC Santa Barbara developing scientific data management applications, and more recently, leading FlightStats iOS and Android mobile application development.  Chad holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Montana.

Robyn Grassanovits, Chief Product Officer

Robyn Grassanovits, Chief Product Officer

Robyn joined the FlightStats team in 2014 as Chief Product Officer, guiding the direction of the FlightStats product portfolio and leading the product management team. This includes driving the product strategy and vision, overseeing the research, launch, and management of multiple new and/or existing product initiatives. Robyn works closely with diverse teams throughout the company to bring products to market, and develop and grow business opportunities.  Prior to her current role, she led Product Management, Development and Delivery for the Travel Studios group at Sabre Holdings.  There she leveraged technology to create, launch and incubate start-up businesses, including Sabre’s premier mobile offering, TripCase.  Robyn started her career in airline and hospitality operations, and most notably lead the launch of American Airlines’ first online booking site and the original web-fare, NetSAAvers. Robyn has a passion for bringing innovation to life and using technology to drive operational efficiencies, which is exemplified by her 20+ years of product management experience in the travel industry.

Steve Thornton joined FlightStats in 2012.  As Chief Operating Officer, Steve is responsible for Operations, Product Support, Professional Services, and Program Management functions. With over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, including program and engineering management experience spanning 20 years with Intel, Steve has held key roles in engineering, factory support, field service, program & project management, training, technology development, new product introduction, and business process development. Steve served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute in Portland Oregon, and was a Senior Instructor in Corporate Management Development programs.

Alex Witherspoon, VP Of Platform Engineering

Alex Witherspoon, VP of Platform Engineering

Alex Witherspoon joined FlightStats in 2014 and currently serves as VP of Platform Engineering. Alex is responsible for engineering and managing our industry leading global infrastructure and big data system for FlightStats. For over a decade Alex has provided leadership for startups and Fortune 200 companies to develop robust infrastructures and business leadership in the technology field. Most recently Alex led the Presidio Datacenter Practice which accounted for over a billion a year in infrastructure design and implementation for clients across the world. Alex attended Portland State University and holds a BS in Business Information Systems, and Computer Science.

Mark Tilden

Mark Tilden

Mark Tilden is an original shareholder of FlightStats, and was the co-founder and CTO of Sight & Sound Software, the predecessor company to FlightStats. Mark spearheaded Sight & Sound’s work in the on-line travel technology sector, and helped lead the sale of the company to Datalex plc. He was responsible for the development of American Airlines’ Personal AAccess product, and for the development of the BookSmart booking engine. Prior to Sight & Sound, Mark worked at Tektronix for nearly 17 years in software and hardware engineering and engineering management roles, and he has extensive experience leading technology development projects. He holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and has completed course work toward a masters in Computer Science.

Eric Pappot

Eric Pappot

Eric Pappot is the COO of Sevilla Beheer BV, a Dutch investment company. In this role Eric is responsible for the operational performance of Sevilla and its investments. Prior to joining Sevilla Beheer, Eric held various jobs in the food and beverage industry.  He worked as Production Director for Nolet Distillery BV, Schiedam; as Supply Director for Ketel One World Wide (a Diageo joint venture); and as Supervisor of a bakery. In these roles Eric was responsible for operational procurement, performance, quality, logistics, organization and various projects such as production extension and new products. Eric has significant experience with fast-growing businesses and he has the skills to focus the organization in order to meet its critical success factors and to manage its risks successfully.   He is a graduate engineer (M.Sc.), and he joined the FlightStats Board in 2014.
