*****
****
Netter Pop, mehr aber auch nicht.
***
Another TS song which I don't hate. She's on a roll now.

Again the chorus is repetitive just like "Out Of The Woods", but at least she isn't talking about a personal relationship or singing about the other crap she usually sings about here.

I can accept this because it feels like it could be sung by any other female pop star. It's more separated from her usual garbage.

2.75*.
***
Decent. On par with her other 2014 tracks.
***
Maybe it's slightly better than Out Of The Woods but perhaps not. This could so easily be a Katy Perry album filler.
*****
Sehr guter Opener. Macht Lust auf mehr. Die erste Countdown Single "Out Of The Woods" gefällt mir aber besser.
***
I'd agree with bluezombie here. A bit more catchy, but no 'Shake It Off'. 3.25
****
****
Solide Nummer und gut gewählt als Opener.
Macht lust auf mehr!
4*+

****
This one's earned a bit of flak for it's generic lyrics which are not acceptable for New York songs, it's true the geographic aspect is a bit tacked-on but the rest of song is pretty good. Like the parts which remind me of 'You Belong With Me' in a way that's not so much rehashing ideas as it is finding new ways to use motifs

"just so f**king interesting and great". But seriously, El-P's twitter feed is my favourite thing about this song. I mean, this sort of felt like a step too far, with the awkward chorus making it sound more like a Katy Perry song or something. Like that though, you can tell there's been a lot of work in producing it to make it pop out, and in that instance it works, but otherwise it's not one I'm too keen on. 3.2
*****
I really like the production but the Welcome To New York bit is annoying, if this was released properly I could see myself loving this though. The bit after the aforementioned bit is really good.
*****
I suppose that it sticks true to the line "the lights are so bright but they never blind me" since it really is quite bright production-wise, though her vocals stay on point throughout. Just a really fun effort and a great album opener.
****
Solider Auftakt.
******

4+

****
...solider 1989er-Opener...
