Monica and Shannon Brown Welcome Daughter Laiyah

She’s finally arrived! R&B singer Monica gives birth to a baby girl.

Monica and her husband of nearly three years, Phoenix Suns basketball player Shannon Brown, welcome their little princess Laiyah Shannon into the world. She confirmed her pregnancy back in May when she was already five months along.

Laiyah was born at 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, and weighed in at 6 lbs., 1 oz.

Mr. Brown took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share the first photo of the newborn, who is the couple’s first child together. “I THANK GOD for her!!! JOY has been restored in my LIFE!!!” the caption reads.

Laiyah joins three big brothers, Rocko and Romelo and Shannon Jr.
