Home Run For The Corrs

07/Oct/2005

The Corrs climb one place from No2 to No1 with ‘Home’, to claim their 6th No1 on the Irish Album Chart: their first album ‘Forgiven, Not Forgotten’ peaked at No2, but the next 6 have all made it to the top.

Franz Ferdinand have this week’s highest new entry at No2 with their much-anticipated second album ‘You Could Have It So Much Better With’, matching the No2 debut of their self-titled first album in February 2004. Sinead O’Connor has the next new entry at No17 with ‘Throw Down Your Arms’, recorded in Jamaica and produced by Sly & Robbie – her 10th Top 30 album in Ireland over a span of 17 years. On the Singles Chart Sugababes climb one place to their first Irish No1 with ‘Push The Button’, ousting The Pussycat Dolls ‘Don’t Cha’ which slips to No2. Kanye West climbs 3 places to No3 with ‘Gold Digger’, followed by non-movers at No4 and No5 – Daniel Powter ‘Bad Day’ and Jessica Simpson ‘These Boots’. This week’s highest new entry is at No6: Robbie Williams ‘Tripping’, the first single from his forthcoming ‘Intensive Care’ album.
