Burlington is in the greater Cincinnati area and offers a rich variety of activities and events within a short drive.  The shop is easily accessible from I-75 or I-275 (only 4 miles off the exits of either).  We are 12 miles south of Cincinnati, 100 miles from Lexington, and 1 1/2 hours from Louisville.  It's an easy drive, and a lovely area.  Come spend the day with us!

Cabin Arts has been in business since 1992 in the historic district of Burlington, Kentucky, county seat of Boone County. Located in a restored 1850's log home, the shop offers the charm of bygone days yet is filled with the latest fabrics and supplies the quilting world has to offer. With the recent addition of another log structure, there is ample space for a variety of class offerings and a work area for our customers.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Austin Healey Club recently made the shop one of their stops on a Saturday cruise.  The ladies, several of whom were quilters, enjoyed a little shopping time while the gentleman were entertained by my husband, Dan, at his import car shop.  We really enjoyed seeing these beautifully restored vintage cars, much like a lovely antique quilt!

Have you seen our newest addition?  We've joined the growing group of lucky people with quilt squares on their barns and other buildings.  Ours was hung on Oct. 14th and we're very proud of it.  The base was painted by my sister, Renetta McBride, and her husband, Dick.  I got to play with stencils and sponges and simulated the "fabric" patterns.  My husband, Dan, added the "binding" and hung it for me.  I can now brag that I have the largest Log Cabin block in Boone County!

Winter 2008/9 - What an interesting one it's been!  The old dinner bell shown sits outside the Cabin.  It is one my grandfather made.  I think it looks more like a fringed lamp at times - don't you?  Nature is quite an embellisher!!
