A note from a great organization that works with our troops in the field.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Spirit of America turns 10 years old this month.

For ten years Spirit of America has helped Americans serving abroad accomplish difficult missions and improve the lives of those in need in the world’s most challenging places: Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, West Africa and beyond.

By helping our troops build relationships, goodwill and trust, our support has made them safer and more successful. We’ve helped improve the position and perception of America in the world at a time when the support of the American people can make a deeply important and lasting impression.

We’ve only been able to do this because of you. We have connected the generosity of the American people to the initiative and humanity of our servicemen and women. It is the true spirit of America at work. Thank you for being a part of it.

We believe that America still matters and that America’s ideals and leadership are central to advancing the peace, freedom and prosperity aspired to at home and abroad.

Our vision is that whenever our country sends our men and women to serve abroad the American people will be by their side, as their partners, supporting their missions and helping them show the world who Americans really are and what we stand for.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may be drawing to a close, but this vision remains as relevant as ever. Combining the generosity of our citizens at home with the capabilities and courage of those who serve abroad is a fundamentally better way for America to engage with the world. And, this approach can help our country meet critical challenges. As Lt. General Charles Cleveland recently said, “The nation does not want another Afghanistan. So, how do we prevent conflict?”

Toward that goal, small teams of unheralded US personnel are diligently and bravely working around the world to address problems before they boil over into crisis, war, and human suffering. And they need our support as much as the men and women still serving in Afghanistan. We’ve seen that Spirit of America’s assistance can have an off-scale effect in these situations.

We look forward to working with you in the years ahead to provide the remarkable men and women who serve abroad on our behalf all that America has to offer.

Again, thank you for your generosity and support.
