From Mitchell and Webb and the creators of award winning Channel 4 comedy 'Peep Show' comes Magicians, a hilarious new British comedy out to own and rent on DVD from 17th September 2007.
Magical Duo Harry (David Mitchell) and Karl (Robert Webb) are on the road to fame and glory with their mystifying double act. With audiences eating out of their hands and the world at their feet, they can do no wrong… until Karl puts his wand somewhere it shouldn't be.
After a guillotine illusion involving Harry's wife goes horribly wrong, their friendship and careers are over. With his career having done a disappearing act, Harry finds himself selling kitchenware in a prospect-less career…but his wand hand won't rest.
The lure of one more magical performance is too strong and once again he takes centre stage, when he's drawn to the lucrative cash prize and glory on offer at the prestigious 'International Magic Shield' tournament. He is accompanied on his road back to the big time by fellow shop worker Linda (Jessica Stevenson), a rather manic, deranged but ultimately charming magical assistant.
A collection of the most peculiar and eclectic magicians from throughout the UK have gathered on the Isle of Wight to battle it out for the prize (including hilarious cameo appearances from some of the UK's top magicians Ali Bongo, Anthony Owen and Aladin).
As the competition progresses and the tension mounts, Harry and Karl must decide to either compete against one another or re-form one of the most revered magical acts in history.
Will they put their troubles aside or will their duo be sawn in half forever?
Don't miss this piece of comedy magic from one of the UK's most loved comedy double acts.
