AC360 Exclusive: More from Bradley Manning’s father
A military judge has consolidated several of Army Private Bradley Manning's convictions, reducing his maximum possible sentence from 136 years to 90. Manning stole 750,000 pages of classified documents and videos and gave them to the web site WikiLeaks. He was acquitted of the most serious charge of aiding the enemy, but Manning was found guilty of violating the Espionage Act. In a 360 exclusive interview, his father Brian Manning is speaking out about the case for the first time since the conviction.

Bradley Manning signed the same papers and received the same indoctrination I did when I became part of the intelligence community – only the dates are different. I was honorably discharged in 1974. At that time I had a healthy respect for the UCMJ, perhaps it could be called fear. I think he knew what he was doing, was aware of the consequences, and is now getting the attention he was seeking. Unfortunately, the TV cameras will soon be turned off and the newsmedia will move on. Bradley Manning will still be in jail.
You gotta be kidding!! Mannings father is lost in a sea of technology. Talk about a man in denial. The son doesn't understand his promise and commitment to his country, he doesn't need daddy to wipe his derriere.
