Crimes against animals, dogs, cats etc.... need to be prosecuted much more harshly than they are now. People who abuse animals & disregard an animals life are much more likely to be envolved in more criminal behavior. These people must be stopped & punished.
How can we stop this? We just need to stop it. This is one of the crazy things in the U.S. Animal abuse, child abuse, mass shootings. STOP! How can stop the madness?
Thank you so much for airing this storing. It is very difficult for me to watch stuff like this because I love animals so much, but I hope that it will bring awareness to people of what dog fighting is truly about. I have owned pitbulls for over ten years. They are the most loving animals I have ever met. Horrible people use this loyalty and love to their sick advantage and force them to fight. If we all did our part, we could end dog fighting and animal abuse in this country. I
Well done Anderson. So nice to see mainstream media put the blame where it should have been all the time and that is the "other" end of the leash. It is the human monsters who should be paying the price and not those that don't have a choice what they are born into Four of Michael Vicks severely abused dogs became certified therapy dogs working in hospitals, seniors homes and schools. I pray all these dogs will find good and loving homes.
Thank You for airing this report. I am sadden by so much pain ans suffering that i know goes on 24/7 in our country.
Please air a follow-up when these dogs are ready for adoption there are loving homes that would welcome them with open arms! Thank you ASPCA for all you do!!!! Please help prosecute to the fullest extent of the law the people responsible!!
GREAT, AMAZING, and most of all THANK YOU ANDERSON COOPER!!!
I am in tears watching this video! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for revealing just a small portion of what goes on in the world of dog fighting. I have ran an education, advocacy, & rescue organization for pit bulls for over 5 years in Ohio. The media is one of our biggest enemies sometimes. Thank you for shining light on this subject and showing the truth on this subject. It's not the dogs' fault. THANK YOU from Cincinnati!!
Thank you so much for doing this story. My heart aches for these poor dogs. Hopefully they will get a second chance at life and have a loving home.
Thank you for airing this story. Dogfighting is far too prevalent. Public awareness will hopefully encourage a political will to do something to end these horrific crimes.
would you please keep us updated on these dogs and if possible what happens to the black one who was just trembling in his cage?
thanks for helping make people aware
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the story about the dog-fighting ring that was busted and the AMAZING work of the ASPCA!! I'm so tired of people excusing dog-fighting by saying it is "the norm" in the south and people like Michael Vick didn't know any better! Anyone in their right mind knows deep in their soul that putting a 5 lb dog on a 20 lb chain in 90 degree weather with no water is wrong! I have a hard time wrapping my mind around ANYONE who could deliberately torture an innocent animal! Thank you for bringing this story to us....let's keep doing it until we flush out all of the monsters!!
Thank you for shining a spotlight on the victims of dog fighting and portraying them as such – victims. No breed is inherently vicious, it is through horribly abusive treatment that you get what you saw on the video – terrified dogs who have been forced to defend their lives.
Thank you and bravo for telling this story and shedding light on these dogs who have gone from favorite family pets and war heros to most abused and killed ...they are dogs, (and fantastic dogs at that), they are not monsters. Humans are the monsters.
What a great news coverage Anderson Cooper, a great statement you made about this breed cause they are loving breeds and as you noticed how they interacted with the volunteers as they were just rescued from this abuse.
Dog Fighting is a Federal Offense and more dog fighting task force should be implemented, the money that was confiscated should go to the expense of caring for these animals and to help fight the activity of dog fighting.
It would pay for the warehouse expense and the vet bills.
We have a four year old pit female that was rescued as a puppy from the largest dog fighting bust four years ago. She is the love of our life. We have two other pits and they are all great friends. I will never understand how people can do this to dogs that are so loving, loyal and such great companions. I hope the fight continues to stop this brutal sport.
Tx so much for featuring this on your show, it is time people realized that any dog can be manipulated by despicable "humans". Blame the deed not the breed...
I've had dogs in my life, the more solid the better. I watched your show tonight, and it turned my stomach!!!! The wrong "ANIMAL" controls the top of the lead!!!!
The white dog that you played with, that you said was getting better 'cause he'd play ball- I can nearly guarantee you that he's not a pit, but a Dogo Argentino. I've kept and loved two in my life, they are truly the best, smartest, and most loving dog. I'd be happy to adopt him if they're still looking for homes.......
