Pretty Good
Nice clean layout, stable, but it is inconvenient that when returning to the articles list from reading an article, it doesn't remember the position and always goes to the top of the list. Otherwise, looks and works great on Surface Pro
MoreNowhere near as good as iPad app
The sections are not the same as the physical paper and every time you "go back" after reading an article, the app returns to the top of the page. It would be great if this could have the SAME functionality as the iPad (mini) app
MoreTremendous improvement
Redesign that's more intuitive. Ability to download articles for offline reading. One small annoyance is that when you read and article and go back to the root list the app does not remember where you left off and instead brings you to the beginning of the article list. . Keep up the great work.
MoreNeeds Some Work
Back button should remember previous location. Layout of articles could better use space on screen. Hyperlinks in app to other WSJ articles should remain in the app and not open browser. Speed/reliability improvements would be nice as well.
MoreHappy with updated version
Looks great across Windows PC's and Windows Mobile with a consistent design. Live tile does not always seem to refresh consistently, however. Looking forward to seeing how the WSJ team continues to enhance this application.
MoreWorks great
Very easy to use and touch friendly.
MoreStill useless
Offline reading, the only useful feature of an app like this, does not work. Today's paper cannot be downloaded automatically. Worse yet, when the app is closed, it forgets the access credentials, so that downloaded paid articles cannot be read until Internet access is restored. Same result when the app crashes, which it does frequently, especially when the device is put to sleep. This is on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10. Two stars for effort. Update: Downloaded articles cannot be deleted without a reset of the app, which wipes all content. One star withdrawn.
MoreExcellent
The update makes this app really great. It's clean, intuitive, and displays all of the content very nicely. Highly recommended.
MoreStill a distant second to iPad's WSJ app .. or Google's
The new App works well on Windows 10 devices, and the tiles look nice, but the content doesn't download automatically for off-line reading like the Google and Apple WSJ apps. (I have been able to download individual articles or sections manually, but I can't open them when off-line because the app can't verify that I'm a WSJ subscriber.) If I have to be on-line to use the app, then I might as well read it on my browser. The Microsoft development team tells me they are working on an automatic download function, and it can't come soon enough. I am a Microsoft fan and a WSJ fan, but this app still makes me long for my old iPad.
MoreGood app but brass ring is still elusive
This app is good but to make it great you need to: 1. Allow for downloading of entire issue with one click 2. Have offline content arranged in a more intuitive format.... like same as online content. 3. Have it automatically download current day's issue if you are connected to WiFi... with option to auto delete prior issues. Thanks
