   I don’t think either works, but no one is really sure because there are no purely, true communist and no purely capitalist societies, And those purporting to be communist and those purporting to be capitalist are responsible for millions of deaths. I’ll take a capitalist/socialist mix like most of Europe and North America over a totalitarian (not really communist) USSR, but lets not forget how many people have the US killed in our wars for oil.

   Capitalism doesn’t kill millions of people. Capitalism is an economic system, not a political system. Nations kill people. Capitalistic nations don’t kill their own people, they kill other nations’ people, generally with reluctance. Communism kills their own people AND other nations’ people, generally with enthusiasm. Now, you need to ask yourself, in which system would you feel safest?

   Yes Ted, we may have many more people in prison than they do. In 2014 we executed 35. China executes by the thousands. No prison population problem. A Russian court ended the death sentence years ago. (15?)

    Socialist/Communists believe the greater good superior to individual rights. Thus taxation is good, personal property rights, bad. Capitalism is simply economic liberty, all else are various forms of tyranny.

    “generally with reluctance” : that is a bit of a stretch, a little contrition in front of the camera isn’t reluctance…. And Communism is also an economic system. The main problem is that not all people want that, so thus far it has been partnered with totalitarian governments (Cuba, USSR, China, V.N., Venezuula). Where those who don’t want to go along are forced to do so. The problem with Capitalism comes when people are run over for the sake of “progress” (read profit). That is why some checks are needed. Look up the reasons why anti-trust laws were inacted if you fail to understand.
