Aleksandra Sakowska

Aleksandra’s main area of interest is English Renaissance theatre especially modern and inter/multi-cultural performance and early modern literary theory, especially the concept of imitation and invention.

She holds an MA from Warsaw University, Institute of English Studies. During her studies she was involved in a number of extracurricular activities including co-founding the student theatre group the Cheerful Hamlets.

In her PhD project entitled Shakespearean Drama in Performance in the XXI c: Eastern European interpretations and inspirations for staging William Shakespeare’s plays she focuses on staging trends of Shakespeare’s plays in Eastern European theatres in the new millennium.
