We are exactly one week away from Xiaomi's February 24 launch event in
China as well as a limited media preview at MWC 2016 in Barcelona the
same day. But there is no shortage of leaks related to the upcoming
flagship from the Chinese handset maker. In a latest leak, a retail
package sticker claimed to be from Xiaomi Mi 5 retail box has surfaced
on the Internet tipping some of the innards of the handset.
According
to the leaked details (via GizmoChina), the Mi 5 will feature a 5.15-inch full-HD display and will be
powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 820 processor. The purported retail
package sticker of the Mi 5 smartphone also adds that the device will be
backed by a 3000mAh battery and will sport a USB Type-C port. The
smartphone is listed to pack a 16-megapixel rear camera alongside a
4-megapixel front camera.
The company had confirmed the chipset details alongside other details including dual-SIM functionality, and NFC connectivity.
Recently,
Xiaomi, following LG's lead, unveiled a protective case for the upcoming flagship Mi 5 smartphone. The company touted that the case
had a thickness of 0.45 mm.
Based on preliminary leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come in two memory and storage versions - 3GB
of RAM with 32GB inbuilt storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage. It
is also supposed to feature Quick Charge 3.0. The Chinese company is
also said to use a pressure-sensitive touchscreen, which will be a
technology similar to Apple's 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive
technology.
