METTON has in its parish only 18 houses, and 77 souls, and is situated 3½ miles S. of Cromer. It contains 606a. 3r. 11p. of land, the property of W. H. Windham, Esq., who is also lord of the manor, and patron of the church living, a discharged rectory, valued in the King's book at £7, and consolidated with Felbrigg. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, was new roofed and thoroughly repaired, in 1849, at the expense of W. H. Windham, Esq. The tithes of Metton were commuted in 1842 for £137.
